This has been disclosed Thursday in Mzimba when DfID bankrolled K1.2 billion for the phase two of Mzimba DAPP Teachers College.

DfID deputy head Philip Smith said lady teachers are often role models for girls in schools there he said the project is aimed at encouraging girl child to stay in school.

He said the private teachers college has an enrolment of 256 whose 70 percent are women. The college had previously an enrolment of 64.

Ministry of education official Mary Chirwa welcomed the expansion of the college saying it comes at a time when the government is struggling to construct five new teachers colleges due to budgetary constraints.

Is a boy child not a human being? DFID should know that the constitution of the Republic of Malawi does not tolerate discrimination. It is for equal rights for education,………. Why this discrimination. Why this contradiction. You advocate for equal rights yet you are doing the opposite. Lets educate and train all of them without discrimination. They are all the future leaders of Malawi. They all deserve love not gender discrimination.
