Uladi drums up for PP’s Beza in Mzimba bye-election

Home Affairs Minister Uladi Mussa has said people from Mzimba should guard against jelousy people who would want to lower the status and role of the district.

Mussa was speaking at Kapando ground where Vice President Khumbo Kachali was addressing a campaign rally.

“In the history of Malawi, Mzimba has never produced anything greater than the Vice Presidency and when 9 October comes you should show you are happy with the gift the President gave you,” said Mussa.

The by-elections will take place in Mzimba Central Constituency in northern Malawi following the death of its parliamentarian, Professor Donton Mkandawire, and in Mzimba South West Constituency, whose MP, Khumbo Kachali, was appointed the country’s Vice-President.

Mussa said the vote on bye-elections will not be about the change of Government but who will deliver development.

“There are 28 districts in the country but Mzimba emerged to get this position and the best thank you today will be voting for PP candidate,” said Mussa.

PP Treasurer General Harry Mkandawire said no independent candidate will be allowed into the party.

Inkosi Mtwalo said the area was ready to give Peoples Party its first MP saying the freedoms the party had brought were being enjoyed by all Malawians.
