Our humble advice is please “Register as a voter” don’t waste your time admiring the UTM agenda. The MEC registration is heading into its last stages otherwise you won’t be a candidate due to technicalities within our electoral system. Your coming should have been a quiet one so my friend DPP won’t hesitate to embarrass you

Everyone has a right to contest if he /she is eligible but in this case it would have been better if he dedicated his time supporting those already on the ground. In addition he can help raise the profile of UTM in UK. He should be proud that he is from Malawi and in one way or another put Malawi on the map.

I bet a sizable group of our mps in parliment have foreign passports. APM said he only have a green card but did someone actually followed it up to verify it

Let a fellow Malawian help develop the country…. drop the never-ending politics, stuff like that just keeps on dragging us, he’s started developing his constituency already and others have benefited by way of education which is a good thing; a fresh mind into our political arena won’t kill, we are a democracy after all. Give a guy a chance.

I doubt if this guy is eligible for elected position in Malawi. By being a Councillor in UK, he most likely is a citizen of UK. He is also a citizen of Malawi. Malawi laws don’t allow dual citizenship. He is already disqualified on that account.

You must be talking about the presidency not parliamentarian seat.

The fact of the matter is that dual citizenship is currently illegal. On that basis, any aspiring candidate for any elected position violating the laws of Malawi will be disqualified. He should think twice before he embarasses himself.

Mupusa nazo izi. You dont have to be a citizen here to be a counsellor. Why dont you do research first instead of coming on a public forum and embarrass yourself?
