Wanderers shift focus to title campaign – Madeira

Be Forward Wanderers team manager Steven Madeira says his team will need to immediately refocus their attentions towards the TNM Super League this weekend against Wizards FC on Sunday at Mulanje Park Stadium, following a bumpy Saturday.

Madeira: Focus on league

The Nomads lost 10-9 in a penalty shootout against Silver Strikers in the Airtel Top 8 Final match at the Bingu National Stadium Stadium.

And while disappointed to have missed the Airtel Top 8 cup, Madeira admits they have little time to feel sorry for themselves as they look towards league glory, where they have 3 points from a single game against Kamuzu Barracks.

“It’s disappointing, obviously. Now turning all [Wanderers focus] to the league game against Wizards on Sunday.”

Wanderers have little time for respite as they face Wizards, who are currently in top form and they have never lost any match at Mulanje Park.

”Now we have to change focus on the League game. We just have to keep winning our games and the first one is on Sunday,” Madeira   added.

On the back of this, the biggest challenge for the Nomads is on how to lift them [the players] up, help them refocus and look forward to the championship.
