So our guns and tear gas are controlled by DPP . Is this what you are saying Grace ?. What you are saying is DPP tells our law enforcement agencies when to open fire and when not to. Grace you have just confirmed what we have always been saying that DPP ordered the massacre of the 20 Malawians in July 2011. Now this is what we mean when we say bafoonary and critical analysis don’t dine together. Your party colour and bafoonary coupled with sycophancy have betrayed you in your writing. You are a DPP sycophant masquerading as an analysist.

I also felt the same after reading this article. it is hard to hide your “voice” even in writing. and did you expect people to turn up in large numbers after they were threatened and the army was even involved. Don’t blame those who protested even if they were twenty. It is the message that matters most.

Malawi is slowly dying because of helpless people like this so called analyst. I dare this so called analyst to indicate to us which among the reasons advanced for the demonstrations are serving self interests for Mtambo and company. To any proper reasoning Malawian the reasons were for national interests – blackouts, youth unemployment, corruption, misuse of MBC etc. Which of these are for self interests of Mtambo and company? People cannot come in large numbers when what the police know is to shoot demonstrators. Were you not in the country when there were threats of it being a bloody… Read more »

What kind of social and political commenter is this lady? So DPP as a party keeps guns and teargas? Or can command to use ammunition?
Okay let’s assume it’s the police who are in custody and incharge of crowd control ammunitions do they just shoot anyhow even when the demo is peaceful?
Was the commenter expecting her DPP party to shoot/ kill people again?
This is a fake political commenter!

A poor analysis by all standards. You didn’t choose the right heading for your piece and you didn’t analyze anything at all. Your arguments are hollow and too biased for anyone claiming to be an analyst. Try again next time, maybe you will do better at the next attempt at it

analyst wakuti? Useless writer. You have failed to analyse the situation.

In fact, in demonstration, its not all about numbers that matter, its about the message from the people put across. That was successful.

On Dr. Chakwera and other MCP members attending the demonstration; it was their human right to attend. They participated as MCP members and as individuals.

You are simply far to be called an analyst ,……Grace

Truly? Is this one an analyst? A demonstration is not measured by numbers only. There are several factors that can constitute an effective demo and one of them is the content of the message carried. If the message is shared by many people, that’s alright. In Malawi after July 20, people have shunned demos due to fear of being massacred by Police. Wait for some time and make a fair analysis that this demonstration was a flop. Any person has a right to demonstrate whether he or she is MCP, PP or anything. I hope you know that. So why… Read more »

There you go abstract PC critics.! In the safety of your cowardice massaged as online activism you’ve problem with organisers, message and mobilization of the protests.

Aren’t you embarrassed these at least are courageous and pragmatic unlike you whose courage is contained in fear of being practical?

Grace, however pleasant your language or argument is, accept that the least of these protesters and organisers is far more pragmatic and courageous than you. Only shameless arrogance and a false sense of self-importance will make you deny this

Malawi just have so many educated fools running around disguised as independent and non-partisan journalists. May the good Lord save Mai Malawi. Malawi journalist, most of them, have lost their consciousness. They’re mostly on politicians’ payroll and therefore operating on instructions from the top and not in the interest of the people they purport to represent. God will reward you more if indeed you represent the cries of the people.

Kalepo Kalua and very few of Us matched against the Third Term. That has been the trend in Malawi. Few people turn up for demos.Mostly College students and Educated Citizens, those who once took part in one or two demos whilst in College.Once kodokodo, always kodokodoJuly 20 was an exception due to the Fuel Crisis. As for the North ,Historically you know that is the home of the Brave.High literacy levels,They vote on Issues not Tribe. No problem with Politicians taking part in demos.Often times we have accused them of hiding in the comfort of their homes.Chachikulu uthenga tinakapereka.Hopefully abwana anuo achitapo kanthu.Mutikumbutsireko Mayi.
