Indeed the constitution must be reviewed- particularly on the powers of the President – the immunity part is the one I am not comfortable with. Again public appointment by the state President do not make much sense in the way affairs are run in our country. When the president is s in office, he/she can get away with almost anything : sell the jet , sell the M S Bank, overprice projects, build substandard roads and pocket huge sums of money out of it , go into shady mining deals with investors Etc. When out of office a lot of… Read more »

This is shallow analysis. Don’t you know that cashgate started with Kamuzu Banda that’s why he endevoured to suppress any voice of reason to avoid being exposed? Do you know the disagreements that prompted the demise of the Gadamas, Matenjes, Chiwangas, Sangalas? Mwabadwa dzulo eti? And just go to Chiwengo Village and confirm this. Do you know who owns pointable buildings in Kasungu town? Grow up iwe mfana wise one.

Well, maybe if we gave judicial system more autonomy and gave politicians only authority scrutinise it, then I dont think we would be having these dubious statements.

Wise one you have hit the nail on the head. Malawi is being ruled by a greedy, clueless and corrupt leader. A man who has no vision and shame. He talking through his ass as he is dillusional and incompetent. He truly believes Malawians are that stupid to believe that he means what he says. Muthalika smell corruption all over his body. He is a man like Mugabe want to go to his grave after cleaning the coffers of our country. What we must do as true citizens of this country is save our land before it is too late.… Read more »

Firstly, thank you very much for your great write up. I always rush for your informative articles because after reading it I always become wiser. When news about the demise of Raphael Tenthani echoed I felt helpless because in him a great write had been lost. Guess what, God is wonderful. Little did we guess that we will find solace in you, Wise one. After everything said, what can be the solution to these institutionalized criminalities taking root in Malawi? I think the problem lies in our supreme law of the land, the constitution. Our Constitution gives more than necessary… Read more »

The issue of cashgate will indeed lead to some deaths if government is not offering enough security to some judges. There are cashgaters from the Malawi Defence Force here and some more dangerous people like Kasambara and Mphwiyo in addition. Lives are indeed in danger BUT NO MAN IS BIGGER THAN THE COUNTRY. LET JUSTICE TAKE ITS COURSE AND PROVE THAT THIEVES ARE LOCKED UP FOR GOOD

But why is German silent on this issue? Can’t they bring there own security detail to guard there citizens on the cashgate assignment. And even tail Dausi, shook him a bit and he will stop all this nonsense. The Queen must also rebuke him for misplaced use of her vocabulary, the man thinks he is a genius but wa Youth League si wa MYP!!!
