Wizards lash out at sponsors FISD over relocation to Lilongwe

FISD Wizards Technical Director Peter Mponda has lashed out at their sponsors for not being honest on the team’s proposal to relocate to Central Region Football Association League after their relegation from Malawi’s top league.

Mponda said he was surprised that they were getting information from the media from sponsors FISD over their proposed relocation.

“We are not happy that we are getting most of information over our relocation to Central Region from our base, the Southern Region,” Mponda said.

“Our sponsors should have engaged with us to exhaustively discuss with us over the issue because we need to look at a number of aspects for us to bounce back into the top league.”

Among others Mponda hinted that FISD Wizards could have a better chance of springing back into Super League if they could stay in the South.

“Our players are used to play in the South and for us to shift to Central Region it would not be easy for them to adapt to the demands of the league,” he said.

FISD Wizzards Chairman Mike Tembo also ruled out the possibility of moving to Central Region as they would need to secure their base.

“We need to have our own base and I don’t think the ground will be ready at the start of the season,” he said.

FISD Wizards were relegated from the top league after offering false promises to survive backed by good management and financial position when it was under UK firm’s Surestream Petroleum before breaking away.

The team also managed to secure a substantial K60 million from FISD after Mponda managed to cut the team from Surestream following a protracted ownership battle after he registered the team in his name while serving as Technical Director for Surestream Academy.

Mr.Mponda, know that you dont bite the finger that feeds you. You can not talk sheet with FISD management and I know FISD director, Frank Mwenechanya is no-nosence. I advise Frank that if these southern region idots play dity tricks just find a team from the central region and sponsor it. Leave these southerners rotting. Mponda should have humbled himself. Its good to respect people who have gold so long they are not asking you to become gay. Next time respect thy elders.

Number 2 has said it all. Chamwininchamwini. Now the players will be the victims. The team will no longer be the same. . Mponda is a disgrace. Learn from MZUNI. They roped in Kinnah when they new the team was deemed for relegation. Silver has to seek the services of Young . Etc

What is the legal implication in terms of entry point if Wizards relocate to Lilongwe. Is it given that they will join Chipiku Central Region League or they will have to start as a non league and rise all the way? Can anyone start a team in any region and decide where they start from on the league hierarchy? Whatever the case, Wizards are done. Forget about these guys
