Car set ablaze as Mzuzu University student is killed
Mourning and angry students of Mzuzu University on Wednesday set ablaze a car whick hit their fellow student and killed him.
Police said they were investigating the cause of the accident and reaction by angry students.
The student Sam Banda is said to have been crossing the road to the campus for the ongoing student registration exercise which has since been suspended following the incident
President for the Student’s Union Wazamazama Katatu says the driver who is yet to be identified together with the conductor jumped out of the vehicle and fled.
Police spokesperson Martin Bwanali has confirmed that Banda has died.
Meanwhile, news of the death of the student has shocked and caused sadness to a large part of the student body.
Hundreds of students wrote their condolences on the university’s social media platforms.

If University students act like that in an issue that can happen to anyone, what chance has this country got. These are the people that make a lot of noise about give youth a chance to rule, are you sure?
I hope there was no alcohol or arrogance involved, because most accidents are caused by these two.
