As a Malawian based in RSA, after briefly working for ABB (South Africa), Power Systems, I came across a single line diagram on the Matambo Substation in Tete Mozambique with a located 220kV feeder circuit to Malawi. I don’t know why Malawi cant import power from Mozambique up to now? Mozambique has excess power. Caborra Bassa (Songo) produces over 2,000 Megawatts, Benga a coal fired Power Station also must be producing over half of Caborra Bassa. Both power stations are in Tete.
