Ex MBC journalist in sudden death

Malawi’s media fraternity has lost another journalist Theacra Huwa-Ngwira  just two days after the killing of another journalist Denis Chirwa in Kenya.

A family member says Ngwira a former presenter and producer for the state-run Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) died  suddenly on Sunday after falling down in her bathroom due to blood pressure.

He could not give more details.

However,  Chief Announcer at Malawi Broadcasting Corporation, Felix Pachani ,  confirmed of the death in a local media interview.

At MBC  Ngwira used to produce and present “Mai Wamakono” radio program.

She was also producing special events programs like presidential functions as well as editing presidential speeches for rebroadcasts.

Her remains are expected to be buried on Tuesday near MDC Stadium in Chilomoni, Blantyre .
