Chimpazi: Nominated

The SABC Crown Gospel Awards are given in recognition to exploits of both South Africa and international artists.

Chimpazi has been nominated in the category of Best of Africa for his song ‘I feel Jesus’, which also title truck of his fourth album released last year.

This, however, is not the first time for him to receive a nomination in these awards as he also received one in 2011, but failed to grab the award.

Chimpazi, who is leading a church worship team in South Africa, said he was happy to have received a nomination once again in the awards.

He is facing Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group, Sammie Okposo and Seapour.

“I just want to thank God for the talent. I never anticipated that I will receive nomination once again in these awards. The last time I got a nomination was in 2011. This time I hope I will manage to win the award,” said Chimpazi.

The first SABC Crown Gospel Award were held in 2008 and it now has over 30 categories and the winners are awarded a crown for their sterling contribution in gospel music circles.

Its my prayer that our brother Frank should grab this award, my brother am proud of you eish!!

Mark my words, a South African will be given this award. Xenophobia stil exist pa Joni. Even the song I feel Jesus is not his original song, its Carleton Pearson who sung it in the late 80’s Benjamin Dube stole it in 2000’s and my brother Frank takes it up. What a world of circus.
