Govt to employ more waiters for Malawi President Mutharika
Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development Goodall Gondwe has said the government this year will employ more waiters for President Peter Mutharika.
He said some of the waiters will help during presidential functions to serve people.
This comes on the backdrop of a restriction for employment of people in government.
He refused to tell parliament how many waiters Kamuzu Palace will employ.
“Vacancies arise time and again because these waiters leave any time,” said Gondwe.
Although there is a freeze on employment in government, State House has employed over 20 aides for President Mutharika most of whom do nothing except Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) work or reward for helping Mutharika win the election.
Education minister Emmanuel Fabiano told parliament this year his ministry will employ 10500 teachers.
“In fact I should say we have already empoyed them because they have already been deployed,” said Fabiano.
Health minister Peter Kumpalume said the ministry will employ 1800 health personnel out of which 1200 will be paid by donors through the Grants Fund for a period of 18 months before the government will absorb them in its system.
Gondwe also announced that the police and the Malawi Army will make recruitments this year.

What a joke of a country where the President needs more food and entertainment while his people are languishing in poverty and hunger. If the waiters increase that means the meals too have increased and at the same time the president tells people to feed on mice and grasshoppers, what a foolish government!!!!!
