Kazembe, who hails from Lamuzi village, Traditional Authority Mwambo in the district, was arrested on Monday and is in custody at Zomba Police, according to Thomeck Nyaude, Eastern Region Police spokesperson.

Nyaude said they received a tip-off that the suspect was in possession of a rifle and was subsequently arrested and took with him to his where found a rifle whose serial number is 18345.

“But after being interviewed at the police station, the suspect revealed to have two more rifles of serial numbers Z.A.2040 and 15205. We also learnt that that he has three houses.

“So the law enforcers rushed to the other houses where they found these two more rifles. I believe that the government can do better by prioritising the jobs that needs tackling first such as security, food security, good education and good hospitals if investors are to be attracted to invest in Malawi for the good of… Read more »

What is the point in giving the serial numbers of the guns seized? They are of no interest or relevance. The same goes for giving the registration numbers of vehicles involved in road accidents. There seems to be some kind of obsession with numbers and also initials. Please confine yourself to the important and relevant details of a story.
