The name “mollywood” is not very appealing it shows that we as Malawians are really late to the party in the film industry… Please choose another name for crying out loud !!

#7. English is not an issue. Even those Nigerians you see don’t speak good English. What happens in Film Industry is that people are given a script to memorise. You don’t generally need to speak your own English. Directors are there to help actors do their work well which includes how best to pronounce words. The issue here should be finding good English instructors.

If Government cannot afford to equip MBC with state of the art equipment, let alone enough cameras, just how is it planning to support the film industry?

The film industry is very expensive and requires massive capital injection for it to take off.

Unless this is done, we will keep producing substandard material that is horrible to watch.

Chichewa films or Wat? Most Malawians don’t speak good English so it’s difficult to produce films for international standards
