Malawi President Peter Mutharika has been installed University of Malawi (Unima) Chancellor at a ceremony held at the Great Hall, Chancellor College in Zomba during the 60th congregation of Unima.

Mutharika is the fifth chancellor after founding Head of State the late Hastings Kamuzu Banda, Bakili Muluzi, the late Bingu wa Mutharika and Joyce Banda to be chancellor of Unima.

President Mutharika then awarded degrees and postgraduate diplomas to 397 graduates of the university, 231 (59 percent) of whom are male and 166 (41 percent) are female.

The worst heir in the history of Malawi. He’s got no clue what to do and where to start from. With all due respect our president, the newly crowned Chancellor, he seem to be very happy with these “constitutional whateva”, he can’t address the most pressing needs out there. Deluded kleptomaniacs in bongo bongo land. From cold blooded killings, robbery, to poverty etc. Hey, God have mercy!!

the only thing he thinks is building schools and becoming a chancellor. he cant think out of the box to deal with issues of unemployment, shortages of hospitals and drugs any plenty of economic problems the country is facing. truly speaking this man will run away one day and seek refuge in USA. his guts are 100% shuttered now as he can’t think anymore.

  11. mthakati says:

This is retarded. Chancellor should be a full time position, not symbolic, who can manage the university and be held accountable for any failures. State president has no time to manage the university

  12. chimangeni says:

The number of graduands is too small for a population of 15 million more or less. One university (CUEA) in Kenya graduates close to 3 000 in one of her two graduations per annum. No wonder we scramble for places in our national universities like hell. It high time we changed this status quo.

  13. DUWA KALIRANI says:

    Nyapapi chancellor
