A convoy of 15 hooting cars complete with Police escort in the morning on Thursday disturbing traffic in the process.

The convoy welcomed Bullets 30km away from Lilongwe and escorted it for another 10km at Bunda Round About outside Lilongwe on their way to Blantyre.

Bullets captain who Fischer Kondowe said the gesture would motivate the players to go an extra mile in the competition.

“It is encouraging and we appreciate the support given to us by the Central Region fans,” Kondowe said.

“We will work harder to repay them by continuing to win games.”

The players, who travelled 4000km by road looked worn out, deserved the hero’s welcome having defied all odds to register an important away 1-0 win

Bullets Vice Chairman Austin Kasito said the team deserved a rapturous welcome after winning to boost their morale.

TNM, sponsors of the flagship league said also congratulated the team for the victory.
