Ex-Nomads star blames dipping form on players commitment
Former Mighty Be Forward Wanderers defender Wilton Kaunda has blamed players’ lack of commitment on the team’s uncharacteristic start to the season.
Kaunda, who retired and now resident in Machinjiri, said the coaches were not to blame.
He said the current crop of players had no hunger to die for the team.
“I feel sad that Wanderers are not doing well at the moment because I like the team. When I look at the current players I feel there’s no commitment,” Kaunda said.
He also said apart from commitment most of the players were not as skilful.
“If a player was not that skilled he made up with hard working. We worked as a team. If midfielders were not ticking we could talk to them to jack up so too with strikers if they were not scoring,” he said.
But Kaunda has not spared the coaching panel and executive committee for their lack of foresightedness when recruiting players.
He said Wanderers had no ball winners in the midfield.
His concern comes after soccer pundits also argued that executive committee rushed to fire Jack Chamangwana as head coach after a poor run of form.
Wanderers have won one game from seven games with five draws and one loss.
