Nomads eye Malawi Under-20 Stars

Mighty Be Forward Wanderers are leaving no stone unturned in their rebuilding exercising as they are eyeing two Malawi Under-20 national team players from Namiwawa FC.

Wanderers have launched a bid to sign forward Francisco Madinga and defender Precious Sambani from Namiwawa who are in the second tier league of Malawi.

An official for Namiwawa said Wanderers would meet the two players to discuss on terms and would be unveiled should they find the offer attractive as they are also been sought after by other top league clubs.

“Basically we have agreed as clubs what has remained is for the players to agree on personal terms with the two players,” the official said.

He said Namiwawa could let the players join Wanderers on either loan or permanent deal.

Wanderers General Secretary Mike Butao confirmed their interest in the players but said they were still discussing.

“We are considering a number of players including these two players from Namiwawa,” Butao said.

Wanderers have have landed big catch in Silver Strikers defender Lucky Malata at K3.5 million as free agent after the bankers failed to meet K5 million signed he is reportedly to have demanded as a condition to stay.

Madinga is also being sought after by Wanderers archrivals Nyasa Big Bullets and Azam Tigers while Sambani has also attracted the interest of Peter Mponda’s Wizzards FC.

The two players made their names at Under 17 Cosafa Tournament in Cosafa in Mauritius with national team and its Under 20 version in South Africa
