Part of the affected site by the floods

According to GVH  Mlombwadza, the heavy rains that poured on Friday resulted in this predicament making Linengwe River full to its capacity causing considerable damage to crops and people`s home.

“If the rains continue, floods may cause more damage and over 61 households would be at risk of getting affected by the flush floods,” He said.

GVH Mlombwadza said  some of the affected families are seeking refuge in their relatives’ houses; others are putting up in a church.

Care International Malawi field advisor for the area, Annie Sumani said the affected people need to be assisted with food and shelter.
