Malawi Police arrest 2 men found with human bones of an albino

Malawi Police in Lilongwe have swiftly arrested a man who was found selling human bones near a hotel in the capital city believed to be that of a person with albinism from Mchinji.

Mchinji police publicist Kaitano Rodrino said the police followed and arrested 24 year old Alexander James who was selling the human bones near Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe.

“We got a tip that he had the bones believed to be that of Supiriano Duncan whose grave was tampered with last year,” said Rodrino.

He said after the arrest, James led them to the arrest of another person.

James had his hands and legs chopped off after his body was exhumed in August last year.

This comes barely days after two persons with albinism are battling for their lives at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre after they were attacked in the house in Nsanje last week.

Just two weeks ago, a woman with albinism was also killed in Area 36 in Lilongwe.
