Speaking during the launching ceremony which was held at St Andrews International High School in Blantyre sponsor of the competition Alick Msowoyo said he decided to pump in such kind of money inorder to motivate the children and increase their passion in sports so that they can become future footballers.

“I have been watching the kids playing and I was very much impressed with the way they were playing so I thought it wise to put something like money just to keep them active in sports,” said Msowoya.

In his remarks Director of Play Soccer Malawi Sylus Luwindo said he was very thankful for the sponsorship which he said has come at a righ time when they had no any competition for the kids.

“As Play Soccer Malawi we are delighted with the coming of this sponsorship because our children have been staying idol for along time without playing any competiton which sometimes affect their performance. Through our programes we target to make the kids to have healthy and strong bodies, encourage them to work hard in school as
well as helping them to have football skills. But for this to be achieved it only depends on the support of well-wishers,” said Luwindo.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) General Secretary Alfred Gunda hailed the support and asked companies in the country and other people to emulate the good example by contributing to sports either with finacial or through football materials.

The competition which will have 8 teams is expected to kick off on November 4 2017.
