Malawi Queens reach finals of Africa Championship

Malawi Queens on Friday thrashed Botswana 44-22 to clinch a place in the finals of Africa Netball Championship match at the National Stadium in Tanzania.

Malawi are ranked first on the continent followed in the IFNA rankings.

The action-packed last-four clash saw the Malawi Queens playing stylish netball and could not be matched by the towering Botswana players.

Malawi head coach Griffin ‘Zagallo’ Siyanda boasted that his team will march on to glory without losing a single game.

“I have a stronger team than any other country here, so I am confident that we will defend our title unbeaten,” he said, according to The Citizen of Tanzania

He had however complained about fixtures congestion, which has forced the participating teams to play two matches per day.

On their way to the finals, Malawi defeated hosts Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
