Malawian woman arrested for attempting to sell own daughter
Police in central district of Ntcheu has arrested a 36 year old woman for attempting to sell her own daughter in order to settle a K300,000 debt.
The suspect, identified as Tabiya Zingwa, of Kasale village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Kwataine, attempted to her daughter at K350 to some business tycoon in the district.
Ntcheu Police deputy publicist Hastings Chigalu said they arrested the suspect after receiving a tip off from the business tycoon who was offered the girl.
The suspect, according to Chigalu, told the law enforcers that the only option to deal with her problem was
either committing suicide or sell the girl.
She the resolved to sell the form two daughter behind the back of his husband.
Zingwa will answer charges of pledging to offer a child as surety, according to Ntcheu Police publicist.

Looks like there is some confusion. For all practical purposes, Ntcheu’s character is typical of a Southern district & in the fast emerging Federal Dispensation Ntcheu is in the Southern State.
