Gawani displayed his “violent conduct” during a TNM super league match involving the host Blantyre United and Rangers on September 28 at Kamuzu stadium. The visitors won 2-1.

During the match Charles Banda, Assistant coach for the visitors was expelled from the technical area due to unsporting conduct and also Gawani was given marching orders having been shown a red card for unsporting behaviour but instead of accepting referee’s decision the player grabbed the card and tore it.

Sulom charged Gawani with violent conduct in consonance with Article 49 (a) Subsection 1 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

“Kondwani Gawani is suspended for four matches following his unsporting behaviour. Gawani has until 1800hrs of Friday, 24 October, 2014to respond to the charge.

“Airborne Rangers FC has to replace the torn red card to the National Referees Committee before its next fixture,” Williams Banda, Sulom General Secretary, said.
