Bullets to fly to Comoros on Saturday from Tanzania: CAF game on Sunday
Malawi’s flag carrier in this year’s CAF champions edition, Big Bullets will fly from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to the Comoros Island on Saturday after missing their flight where they are expected to play Fomboni FC in the first leg of the preliminary round of the tournament.
The TNM Super League Champions, who had planned to fly out to the Comoros on Tuesday, arrived in Dar es Salaam Monday and eventually missed the flight after their secretariat failed to book seats for the 27-member travelling party.
On the Wednesday flight, there were only six seats available against their 27-member squad.
The team will fly out to Comoros on Saturday, a day before their encounter (on Sunday).
They are camping at St Aroche Grand Hotel, a development that has raised fears that they might end up spending more than expected.
Initially, they travelled from Malawi to Tanzania by road to cut costs.
Meanwhile, Epac FC have threatened to report ‘The People’s Team’ does not honour goalkeeper Owen Chaima’s K1.8 million transfer fee.
Epac apparently gave Bullets 48 hours from Monday to pay the transfer fee or they will ask CAF to deregister the player.
“Bullets have registered our player without clearance and we will report the matter to CAF if the issued is not addressed,” reads Epac’s letter addressed to Football Association of Malawi.
However, Bullets Chairperson Kondi Msungama has sought the intervention of FAM on the matter and asked Epac not to issue threats.
But Bullets FC General Secretary Harold Fote argued that Epac are not cooperating as they refused to receive a cheque from them.
“A cheque is a legal tender and we made a commitment to honour the payment. It is not like we are playing tricks.
“We are currently in transit. Once we arrive at our destination, we will settle the issue. That is why we have sought FAM’s involvement,” Fote is quoted as saying by The Nation, Malawi’s daily.

We have never seen worst organizers as these. Kondi the big and empty headed man. What a shame! I pray that BB looses the game to Fomboni and they loose here as well so that they are out of all this stress and headache. If they are failing to go pa Comoros apa, how will they go to Egypt? Hahaha this Bullets team is full of officials who are trickstars. Anyway pa Comoros pompa taking one week to arrive, nanga if you are drawn against an Egyptian side, it will take them one month to reach Egypt that mean starting a month earlier before the day of the month.
