Wanderers draw with Tigers, Silver gets another defeat: Malawi TNM Super League
Mighty Be Forward Wanderers were held to a frustration 2-2 draw against the Azam Tigers after blowing a two goal lead in the TNM Super League first round match played at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday.

It was former Wanderers coach Gerald Phiri Snr’s who made tactical changes bringing inPeter Katsonga and Dan Kumwenda whose goals inside three minutes after the break slashed Wanderers’ 2-0 lead.
Wanderers scored through Sparrow Msowoya and Muhamad Sulumba’s 48th and 50th minutes headed goals respectively.
However, Rafiq Mussa saw red after the break for being shown two yellow card exposing the Nomads midfield, which was dominated by Tigers.
The pint sized midfielder completely lost his composure after he was shown two yellow card for a bad tackle and handling the ball delibarately.
An unsavoury incident followed the goal when Dan Kumwenda tangled with Richard Chipuwa as he tried to
retrieve the ball from the back of the net.
The result is the perfect tonic for Tigers , coming at the end of a week that saw the departure of their three regular players Isaac Kaliati, Stanley Sanudi and Malumbo Gondwe to Wanderers.
Wanderers were not in top gear. The confidence and attacking flair that had characterised their play in the opening game was replaced after the break by a shaky and unsure side that could not defend a handsome lead against a team that had lost its three key players.
The Nomads had a frustrating time against the Kanjedza boys, creating a host of chances but eventually failing to defend their lead.
As much as Tigers were slicing open their opponents with decisive attacking play, the Nomads were also guilty of some abysmal defending.
Coach Elijah Kananji made several changes following the red card by bringing in Jacob Ngwira and Kondwani Kumwenda but the damage was already done.
Some of section of the Nomads supporters had appeared to leave before the last whistle after Tigers equalizer, despondent at the scoreline, but by now the vast majority who remained were passionately roaring on their team.
With absence of Mike Kaziputa, who was serving a red card, Kananji opted for Sparrow Msowoya to operate from the left wing, as Isaac Kaliati was briliant on the right flank.
However, missing during the game was their Camerounian professional Lionel Asu, who was waiting for an International transfer certificate.
After the game, Kananji blamed the red card to have affected their game plan but commended his boys for their perfomance.
Tigers coach Gerald Phiri was not satisfied with the outcome insisted they were a better team and deserved maximum points.
In Lilongwe, Silver Strikers continued bad start to the league with a second defat.
They lost 1-3 to Mafco.
Blue Eagles beat Moyale Barracks 2-0 to displace the soldiers on top of the table with six points
Rookies Dedza Young Soccer Stars impressive start to the season continued with a 3-0 win over fellow new comers Mzuni.

Please correct the name of Azam Tigers striker Peter Kasonga not Katsonga. This a home grown product of his fathers team in Chibavi, Mzuzu. But he refuses to grow beyond club football. And two seasons at Azam Tigers is not good at all for a promising striker, you ca do beyter Peter!
