Nomads played under pressure; says Silver coach
Silver Strikers coach Stain Chirwa said they managed to contain Mighty Be Forward Wanderers in the TNM Super League match at stadium because the bankers were treated as underdogs.
The bankers beat Wanderers 2-0 in an explosive match at Kamuzu Stadium to hand the Nomads their first league loss this season after playing nine games.
Chirwa said the underdogs tag after being beaten by Azam Tigers on Saturday made Wanderers to be complacent.
“We beat Wanderers because they were complacent having dominated the game especially in the first half,” Chirwa said.
“Having lost 1-0 to Azam Tigers on Saturday they underrated us that worked to our advantage.”
He said losing to Azam Tiger was painful so much so that it would was a tall order for them to salvage their pride by beating Wanderers.
Green Harawa and former Bullets player Victor Limbani hit the Nomads where it pained most to inspire the bankers to third spot on the log table with 19 points ahead of Capital City fierce derby against wounded Civo United.
Silver are two points behind Wanderers who are on second place with Bullets currently back on the summit of the log table.
Bullets face their age-old rivals Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.
