Kikiki Ndalama zache zoti abweze akazipeza kuti? The same thieves will steal to pay back what they stole in the first instance. And, we, so ignorant Malawians won’t even realise the same thieves have stolen, again, from right under our noses so to speak. Mr Mkandawire’s copy suggestion is a non-starter; there have to be serious consequences for the kind of blatant actions evidenced in Cashgate. Otherwise, there is nothing to deter future offenders. It is also alleged that 10-20% of looted public resources were offered to some churches as chakhumi. Can the churches return the loot. Cashgaters bought cars , furnished nyumba za abusa onyenga, bought iron sheets for some church houses. Azibusa ena akuvala masuti ndi nsapato zopatsidwa ndi akuba ndalama za boma. In fact there is a list of the Churches that benefited from looted public resources. Abusa odya zakuba usually occupy front seats at DPP political rallies, serve in boards of governors of parastatals. They lead prayers in political meetings. These too too should be held to account

Well, may be CSO leaders and church leaders should hand over the loot from donors money and church offerings first. It’s hypocritical, the very people who have enriched themselves with cash, mansions and expensive cars at the expense of poor Malawians are the ones who loudly call out on corruption. Shame on you.
