Chidanti malunga and pac fooled the public and looked like heroes. Times sold papers. Media sensationalism and abuse of freedom of speech is disgusting. No-one, no matter how rich or poor, Malawian or Asian, should suffer unjust persecution. Let the courts decide and let us live by the rule of law without which we have nothing. The media cannot be judge jury executioner and need to be brought to task. Enough feeding us nonsense and stick to the facts. Give a media guy 50’000mks and they will write anything. We should all be ashamed of what has happened to our… Read more »

Well in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking at this matter in a different way and without fighting and by trying to make it clear, and by considering each and everyone’s opinion, I honestly believe that I have completely forgotten what I wanted to say…😂😂😂😀

Fortunately, the courts don’t work on speculation or emotion, they work on facts.

Let’s wait for next month for the courts to have the final say.

I foresee a lot of defamation cases in the very near future.

Investigating officer for the case from ACB told the court that Mulumbe told ACB in March 2017 that there was no contract between Admarc and Transglobe. Yet the two were arrested in July of the same year. Viva Chaponda

There was no maizegate. MCP framed Chaponda because they thought he was Mutharika’s successor.

I am not a lawyer but if one was to judge the case from the information presented here Hon. George Chaponda and Mr. Rashid Tayub have no case to answer. Especially Rashid Tayub, there is not enough evidence to implicate Rashid Tayub People can be in the same country at the same time but it can be argued that they each had separate interests in Zambia. I heard someone the other day saying do not rush to court just for the sake of rushing to court. Assess yourself, your case and evidence and realistically evaluate your chances of winning a… Read more »

Mulumbe who was a key state witness also did not offer any evidence to implicate Chaponda on his abuse of office charge saying the former minister did not issue any instruction to offer a contract to Transglobe.

Times Group investigated this issue outwitting PAC and Anastazia Msosa. Why is Times Group not writing anything in the newspaper about what is unfolding in the courts on this so called maizegate? Come’on , feed us your usual stinky shit on the case.

Tayub’s lawyer Lusungu Gondwe asked Mulumbe to read the charge against his client and asked him if he can offer any evidence against him.

“No I cannot offer any evidence (that I was influenced to give Transglobe a contract),” said Mulumbe. Case Closed

What the writer forgot to add in his writing was. It was highly speculated that there was money that exchanged hands for the maizegaters but all commissions of enquiries found that there was no single penny that exchanged hands. In the end tax payers money will go to Chaponda and make him a Heroe

Wongani Chiuta, you want turn this forum into a court room in your effort to clean the image of Chaponda. Are you a judge? Are you trying to declare him innocent?

Yes there was “maizegate”. If anything this case has just confirmed weaknesses in the capabilities and capacity of law enforcement agencies and entire legal system both of which are highly compromised. Investigators and prosecutors are poorly skilled, corrupt and mostly inexperienced in handling complicated financial cases. The writer, Wongani Chiuta, is correct in questioning whether ACB really did its job of investigating the issues or whether it went with the political and public wind. PAC and Commission of Enquiry highly compromised with many of them highly uneducated lacking basic skills. That’s why we are all saying that, yes…..there was maizegate.… Read more »
