Malawi Catholic Parish priest found dead in his room
Episcopal Conference of Malawi (WCM) has confirmed the death of Reverend Father Callisto Baluwa of the Society of Montfort Missionaries who was found dead in his room.
“Fr. Baluwa has been found dead in his room today (Wednesday) this afternoon at St. Louis Montfort Catholic Parish in Balaka” reads the statement made available to Nyasa Times by the Catholic Secretariat.
ECM secretary general Father Henry Saindi, said Baluwa was the first Malawian priest to be in charge of Balaka Parish.
Details of funeral arrangements are yet to be known, but currently the body is expected to be taken to College of Medicine in Blantyre for a postmortem.
