Malawi police shoot dead 2 carjacking suspects: Warning of graphic photo!

Malawi Police in Dedza Monday morning shot dead two armed robbers for trying to hijack a car and third suspect is battling for his life at Dedza District Hospital.

Shoot-to kill: Suspsects fatally shot
Shoot-to kill: Suspsects fatally shot

According to Nyasa Times sources, the syndicate involves some police officers.

Dedza Police publicist Edward Kabango confirmed the development saying they opened fire because the criminals were not complying with their orders.

“It’s true that two criminals have been shot dead for trying to hijack a car,” said Kabango. “The third one was seriously wounded and has since been hospitalized.”

He said they had not yet established the criminals’ identities.

But Kabango, who said they had recovered a passport of one of three in the operation, assured the public that they would have established the identities by end of business Monday.

The publicist also brushed aside speculations that some police officers were behind the ordeal. But he said they would investigate the matter further to establish the validity of such allegations.

“Police officers have broken the law before,” he said. “And if some were involved in this syndicate, then they will be brought to book.”

  2. Well done Police! Checking vehicle licences and and Insurance tags only on the roads will not clear off these guys. IG should Invest more in eliminating these carjackers and those terrorizing and breaking homes in suburbs. Hats off to Police!

  5. The one facing this side seems to be Don Chiziwa a guy who lobbed Ecobank at Crossroads last June. He was stealing money from customers accounts going to witchdoctors to multiply the same. When he got fired he started doing this. His wife Wezzie nee Kachali is a Clerk at FMB Crossroads and they live near Sungwi at Area 25. They belong to St. Francis Catholic Church. Sure he is the one.

  11. Some of these thieves have been caught using police guns in some instances.Policemen and watchmen have been conniving with these thieves.People have lost their fortune trusting these crooked watchmen and some twisted policemen.
The idea of shooting these lowlife is not bad because many of them are so evil that they not only come to steal your property but come come kill and rape the same time.We shed no any tear for these thieves. This is going to give a strong warning to would be thieves.Even the cashgate thieves should have been meted the same punishment.Alot people died in hospitals because of lack of drugs from stealing from the public purse meant for health.Well done Police. You need to be promoted.Keep blowing their brains even your friends who are assisting these thieves.

  12. My truck was hijacked 10 years ago. Afterwards the thieves were caught. The time they were caught they had already sold the vehicle at Nampula in Mozambique. They were taken to Blantyre Magistrate court and I was asked to to stand in court to claim that the vehicle belonged to me. I was then asked to go out and that when judgement is passed I will be informed. The thieves offered to take the police to Nampula to show them where they sold the vehicle. I have been asking the police about it but they have no answers. I do not know whether they got the truck back to Malawi. I do not know the sentence that was given to these people. Do I not deserve to know what was the final outcome of my complaint was?

    1. please for Gods sake help this man to know the whereabout of his truck and to recover it.
he should also know the punishment that was given to the robers

  13. Well done police, when you know their identity, go and shoot their wives too! They are all the same. By the way, please finish off the one in Dedza hospital, he should not finish our Asprin tablets.

  14. Finish the other one no mercy.you want our nurses should waste time on that one.dressing his wounds?

  15. U began with one person early last month at Kapenga in Limbe and today in Dedza. Don’t think that shoot to kill will bring the malpractice to an end! This will at the end comr to be a one man’s battle by the end of the day. Whether we like it or not again whether we accept or not ….the idea is that police officers are people and they need socio-contact and association as any other social being!!…this way of approach has to be checked out before it turns to an eleventh hour to someone….same Malawi!!!

  29. Should they not have been captured for much needed intorogation. If it is suspected that there is poilice involvement, then should we not worry about a possible assassination aimed at coverup?

  30. Well done guys, continue with the good job of eliminating these notorious thugs. Kill more and more.

  31. Ladies and gentlemen we need more info here, where is the vehicle they wanted. to steal? We cannot allow the police to b shooting suspects! Just bcoz they got a tip that these people were planning to hijacking a vehicle does not give the Police the right to kill them in cold blood!

  32. Limbe police; have you heard this? For you it takes a century to recover stolen car, worsestill, that is roaming within Btz streets. Shame!

  33. The story as of now is too sketchy.Tell us more on it or don’t publish a story before journalistic investigations are over.Ngati ndi akubadi, bravo DZ Police akubawa aonjeeza pano ndi mmidzi momwee eeti!

  34. Deserved death for stupid thieves. Please ask these officers to do the same with cashgaters. What is the difference to shoot a car hijacker and a cashgater. Izi nzo fanana abale. Polisi gwirani ntchito tizigona tulo. May their soul rest with dyabulosi

  35. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE POLICE OFFICERS WHO HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB BY RELOCATING THESE UNWANTED ANIMALS FROM THE LAND OF MALAWI TO THE HELL. HOW I WISH WE HAD CHANCE TO GIVE A TOKEN OF APPRECIATION TO THESE PATRIOTIC POLICE OFFICERS. I AM READY TO CONTRIBUTE SOME MONEY TO REWARD THEM.
THANK YOU SO MUCH OUR POLICE OFFICERS FOR THIS GOOD JOB. MAKE SURE THAT YOU RELOCATE ALL THESE UNWANTED ANIMALS FROM THE LAND OF MALAWI IF POSSIBLE TO HELL IN ORDER FOR CITIZENS OF MALAWI TO ENJOY THE FRUIT OF THEIR LABOR WITHOUT FEAR.

  36. Proffessional people in uniform..congrats. Chiyambi cholemera ndi kupha mbava zonse. This will send strong signal to all would be armed robbers that their time is over. Keep up killing these lazy dunderheads

  37. Shoot to kill shouldn’t be a policy that our police personnel should be waiting for, just shoot and kill all armed robbers at sight and save our motherland. I think even rapists, abductors, habitual petty thieves we should also do away with them, who will really cry for them? Shoot shoot shoot no mercy to the hoodlums.

  38. Shoot to kill shouldn’t be a policy our police personnel should be waiting, just shoot and kill all armed robbers at sight and save our motherland. 40. Why should you tell a story that hangs in the air? Whose vehicle was it and what were the circumstances of the carjack?

  41. ASAAAAA..THIS IS A HALF BAKED STORY,NYASA. ARMED ROBBERS? DID THEY USE PANGAS OR GUNS? IF YOU MANAGED TO TAKE PICTURES OF DEAD PEOPLE, IT WAS EASIER TO OBTAIN PICTURES OF THE GUNS AND AND THE VEHICLE AS WELL. HOW ABOUT THE STORY OF THE HIJACK VICTIM? VERY BASIC INDEED! IN THE ABSENCE OF THIS BASIC INFORMATION, I REFRAIN FROM PRAISING THE POLICE, BECAUSE I KNOW HOW TRIGGER HAPPY THESE CONSTABLES CAN BE!

  42. U mean alakwisa kuika zithunzi? indeed they have siblings but……. even these siblings of them, they do hide them. armed robbery is another issue Brother, kapena2…………………..

  49. Nyasatimes, we needed the story not the pictures. We can hear you loud and clear without you leaving dents o f graphic pictures that show up just before lunch and eventually erode our appetites. These are real thugs and they deserve to be eliminated this way …. I wouldn’t be talking about justice – it never works these days save by the barrel like this. But the suckers have moms, dads, brothers and cousins. I am just wondering the reaction their siblings will exhume

  50. Well done MPS and congrats to the valliant cop who pulled the trigger. All these Bloodsuckers need to be eliminated.
