As various commentators have always stated about APM, our President is clueless when it comes to leadership. You remember that leaked phone conversation between Jeffrey and Nankhumwa where the former was asking the latter to drop Henry Mussa from cabinet? At first it was Ben Phiri as the power behind the throne, now it is Nankhumwa. This cabinet reshuffle is the handwork of Kondwani Nankhumwa. Clueless, incompetent APM just rubber-stamped it. De jure, the most powerful man in the land is APM; de facto it is Nankhumwa as things stand at this moment.
In all this demeaning of women the questions that some of us are asking are ” where is Emie Kaliya; where is Seodi White , where is PAC, where are the two episcopal churches : Catholic and Anglican ; where are Livingstonia and Nkhoma synods, never mind Blantyre synod and PIM; , where is MAM ( Muslim association of Malawi; where is the donor community who are ploughing so much resources into women agenda and discourse while they fold their hands when the same woman are being demeaned ; I can go on and on. Demeaning of women is happening in our houses and communities. We often forget this. Mchacha is product of the mysogynistic and bigoted society we live in. In fact, most of the people (men) demeaning women everyday are doing worse things than what Mchacha is saying. Stop sensationalising political issues.
