Why the fuss and criticism about MP Lunguzi being in nursing. A big problem in Malawi is that successive governments have had no value for lives. Maybe she could change this mentality. Does she stand up in Parliament against corruption. Yes. Can younger politicians force the changes Malawians desperately need? People forced change in America and Europe. Why not get behind the Nurse. Lunguzi for President

Stupid talk Chifundo. But MCP will win next year, wina afune or asafune. And we will also shed your blood as the icing on their win. Stupid. You think you are as fearless and as many as this side of the opposition? Your fucking tribalist Government is ruling from the Capital Hill of Chewaland and taking away their tobacco dollars to the South. Stupid. Chewas have the economic power to sabotage this economy by denying your fucking sadistic DPP the tobacco dollars to buy fuel. You should thank the Chewas for being selfless even under such political adversity and gloss… Read more »

The proper function of government is not to provide economic statistics that pander to the confirmation bias of its supporters. Its proper function is to increase the happiness and quality of life of its people. If the government can show that the economy of the country has greatly improved, but the Gross National Happiness Index shows that Malawians are increasingly miserable, this is clear evidence that there is no direct correlation between national economic success and individual happiness. Inflation is at 7.8% and interest rates are at 16%. If these figures represented some of the vital signs of one of… Read more »

It is not easy for a Nurse to understand what inflation means. No wonder Mayi Lunguzi is confused with the Sona Address by APM. Someone who has managed to bring the inflation rate from double digit to single digit in four years need to be commended. I am not a politician but a technocrat base in the diaspora. When i travel to Malawi i really see the developments that the DPP government has achieved in less than five years. The problem in Malawi is jealous. Pple want to see monies go into their pocket and they will call that development.… Read more »

So which development are you talking about-in Malawi? Low inflation means low cost of living as your buying power have been cushioned by the low inflation. So tell me, what is it that is cheaper now in Malawi than 4 years ago especially when you claim inflation is 4 times lower than then? lt looks like you are the one who doesn’t understand the word inflation.

You are just on point Comrade..Loud mouthed Lunguzi is just more or less a layman when it comes to economics. As you put it, she is just a nurse who can not understand inflation but is power hungry..For the past four years we have made huge strides in as far as infrastructure development is concerned, food security, human rights, tertiary education, banks and companies have posted huge profits for 2017…….Those who are making noise are just jealous or they are not honest to themselves….Tikati the economy is improving sikuti aliyensetu amakhala ndi ndarama mthumba ayi, ndipo sikuti umphawi umatheratu ayi .Even… Read more »

Another stupid commentor from South Malawi where most of the budget money goes. Lilongwe is just their THEBA POINT using Capital Hill to steal taxes and whisk them to South Malawi. Lilongwe and it’s Districts are manufacturers of tobacco dollars for the thieving South Malawi’s 4 districts of the Lomwes to abuse.

Atupele stop owning the national health services you inherited a dying from your Dad now don’t play pranks with the nation by surfacing 2050 vision while the honourable lady from Dedza is outlining the challenges ordinary Malawians are facing she is cracking a whip on SONA fiction. She has listed the examples that touch the common people across our Malawi. Remember Mr Atupele that you’ve done extremely well in protecting your father from the courts which Bingu unleashed on him keep your filthy trap shut

For those who did economics, accounting or finance can better understand issues of inflation, unemployment, market structure, international trade, etc. Reduction in inflation rate does not necessarily mean that everybody is better, NO WAY. We only look at major macroeconomic issues affecting the country. General increase of prices of goods and services, valuation of the local currency, etc. Several factors can also be considered to say our inflation has lowered. Very difficult for others to understand these things. Let someone not get confused here.

I agree with you DzukaniAmalawi.. the word vocal is not appropriate.. is it that we expect our MP’s to go in parliament and just sit phwiii and not fight for what as a nation we deserve?? Lest you are termed vocal?? za ziii! Malawians deserve more in terms of Health/Education/ Economy etc naye Atupele.. kodi ma plan a government mpaka zaka 20 something since your father took over we just see things getting worse and worse.. Does he even know that an additional crisis is coming in this country in terms of drug abuse and if nothing is done now… Read more »

I wouldn’t characterise the MP (Dedza East) as vocal; she’s merely doing her job in alerting the government on infringing peoples human right to dignity among which is the provision of decent health facilities. I don’t know why any good standing Mp would even argue with what Dedza East MP is raising. Malawi’s health system is a death machine. The government response to this tragedy is a mere plan that will only be realised in 2050 when most of the sitting MP’s are long dead. DPP please stop playing with peoples health, social security, education and shelter. These are basic… Read more »
