Those sutures were supplied this Indian company that gets Lion share in ever tender at CMST. Don’t blame procurement procedures but Instructions to award large portion to this Lilongwe based Indian company. This company is siphoning 90% budget for medical supplies.

Corruption is the root cause of this problem. Buying cheap materials while inflating prices after conniving with the suppliers to pocket the difference. Also employ people who are conversant with current medical standards . Sutures like
chromic plain are no longer used in these days of advanced medical standards. Buy sutures like vicryl that take longer to be absorbed in the body thereby allowing the surgical wound to heal thoroughly, reducing the likelihood of wound bursts. Chromic plain sutures, get absorbed quickly before the wound is properly healed exposing the surgical would to possibility of rupture.

if we passed a law that nobody should go to hospitals outside the country if it is the government paying for the treatment our hospitals would not be in the state they are in. the fact that the president, his ministers, members of parliament and other government big fish do not get treatment in our hospitals makes them care less where the equipment used is up to scratch or not.

What is wrong with CMS is that the get good from unprofessional who have no background of medicine but because they are connected to the government. The DPP they should know that we all go to these hospital so just do the right things or else we will all suffer or die together. What is wrong with our leadership dyera from the top, busy enriching themselves. God is watching atayambe kuvutiva ndi mavuto amene wa ndi a DPP. Mulungu amalanga pansipompano.

Suturing problem is affecting all of us including DPP gurus. Out of 13 who died, 7 are DPP gurus. That means 7 votes for DPP. This is Afrobarometer report by Prof. H.K.

Do not blame procurement procedures…….. blame who ever developed specifications. Do not try to find reasons to put procedures aside. You will dreate a fertile ground for corruption. Kapena mukufuna pobela?
