The State President’s explanation that politicians should be realistic with their promises on job creation is in part a contradiction to what Minister of Finance said in the National Assembly that about K 10 billion has been factored into the 2018 – 2019 budget in order to create 500 000 jobs through internships and tree planting. May be 1 000 000 jobs as advanced by the Vice President is on the high side and that his deputy is rather more ambitious as he is talking about real jobs that will absorb school certificate holders, college and university graduates as opposed… Read more »

He promises that he will turn Malawi into Europe and he challenges his opponent who claims that he will create 1 million jobs.
it is only an idiot who can buy what APM said about Europe, because Europe is a continent, is not a country. And there are many countries in Europe. I would rather believe in a 1 million job dream that a Malawi turn to Europe dream.

I tend to agree with Rt Hon Chilima that this country can: i) end corruption; ii) create more jobs; iii) invest in strategic investments. Whether the jobs will be 500,000, 1,000,000 or 1,500,000 is not important to me. What is more crucial is the resolve to create those jobs. By the way it is not Chilima personally who will create the jobs. He will set up systems that will ensure that: a) funds are used for intended purposes; b) corrupt officials are locked up in jail; c) the business environment is conducive for investors to invest; iv and the list… Read more »

Mr president if you can not does not make everyone a failure and if you cant jst surrender and give chance to those that can.It is laughable for this statement to come from a head of state and who happens to be a proffessor with no vision at all shame on you and it means we should not have trust in you.

It is possible even 4million jobs in a year. You are not a god yourelf, dont waste time trushing other peoples vision, you dont know his plan how to create it. What is impossible to you is possible to others. You promissed to develope malawi like europe, just do it now before election 2019, then l can bet you you dont even need to do this nasty tirelessly campaign to win votes because even those kids writing exams sitting on bricks will notice the transformation is seconds. At your age you were supposed to be enjoying with your wife at this palace and… Read more »

APM is perfectly right in his own right.
Given his own track record, his gross limitations displayed and which we have all witnessed over the past 4yrs, creating 1 million jobs is impossible.
Look, this DPP-led government is even failing to employ its own trained artisans, teachers, nurses and midwives, doctors, etc. Expecting DPP to create even 50,000 is far-fetched.
But soliciting K145million, MAIZEGATE deals with Amwenye then give it to CADETS to be TERRORISING political opponents is what dpp knows BEST..
SHAME!!!
