Apart from Reverend Gunya, the trio of Mpinganjira, Lipenga and Phoya served as Cabinet ministers in the Joyce Banda administration at the height of Cashgate. They were top gurus in the PP.

They have also recycled in almost every party including United Democratic Front (UDF).

The group was welcomed by Mutharika during the party’s political rally which was held at Lunzu ground in Blantyre.

Speaking on behalf of the welcomed group, Mpinganjira said their decision to join DPP followed the good leadership of President Mutharika.

Mpinganjira specially recognised the role and encouragement that DPP vice president Dr George Chaponda played which culminated in his joining the governing party.

On behalf of the others, Mpinganjira hailed Mutharika for his love for them as demonstrated by his welcoming them into the party.

He said they are prepared to assist Mutharika to win 2019 Tripartite elections and fulfil his vision.

“DPP under your leadership has done a lot of development in the country. Don’t be shaken when castigated, jealousy people will do that in order to frustrate you. We are here to support you to fulfil your vision,” said Mpinganjira.

President Mutharika said the coming in of the group mean that DPP is still strong on the ground.

He further said that the development portrays that Malawians are happy with his leadership style.

Mutharika then urge DPP officials to welcome anyone who want to join the party.

  1. is sosten gwengwe not a nomadic? is mia not a nomadic what about harry mkandawire?
    munva pain simunati

  2. Mr Bibo
Be it known to you that you can fight hard to separate Yaos from Lhomwes but you will not succeed. These two tribes are very closer to each other. You cannot take the Yaos to MCP while DPP need them. In 2009 Bakili directed that UDF should vote for MCP when the enmity with Bingu was at its best. But the Yaos on their own voted for Bingu because voting for MCP was taboo. These two tribes are cousins if you don’t know. That’s why PP south is ready to go back to either PP or DPP not MCP. But why is MCP failing to see that 2019 IS NOT THEIR TIME?

  3. If these people joined the sold MCP the party supporters would be saying this is a big catch from the Lhomwes. I said it before that the shooting down of the 50+1 bill created pain to MCP than any other party in the opposition. The expulsion of Uladi and the acts of Ralph Jooma have inflicted pain on MCP more than PP itself. The reason is that all these people are going towards DPP to add votes. The three guys new comers to DPP had each a following in their respective areas. We are also told that the whole committees followed them to the DPP. A committee does not comprise of only 6 people. Whether you like it or not the three guys have done a remarkable thing to DPP which definitely Chakwera can envy. No doubt if these people joined MCP there would be ululations all over and Chakwera would make a big rally at Masintha to welcome them. This act by the big three is just showing that the Lhomwe belt is further tightening its grip not allowing a smell of MCP while the DPP everyone knows that it has and is still making inroads in Chakwera’s area. The crumbling of PP is making DPP to gain something to the disadvantage of the sold MCP. How can MCP feel happy being joined by Anong’a and underrate the joining of the three gurus to DPP? Mukunamatu inu. Imeneyi yakuwawani kwambiri. If you think fielding of Bullets players will attract Bullets supporters you are cheating yourself Mr Mia. Bakili tried this in Ndirande but goofed. Support of a party is stronger than of a club. Chakwera should have known this. You are talking of the 3 that they stole money during Amayi, forgetting that Kondi stole Bullets money and this pain is still there in Ndix ? So you want Ndix to vote for a thief? Mwawayesa makape eti?

  4. “DPP under your leadership has done a lot of development in the country. Don’t be shaken when castigated, jealousy people will do that in order to frustrate you. We are here to support you to fulfil your vision,” said Mpinganjira. end of quote. Mpinganjira has said this to UDF Bakili Muluzi. to DPP Bingu Wa Mutharika, to PP Joyce Banda and now to DPP Peter Wa Mutharika. Albeit he will say the same thing to MCPs Dr. Chakwera if he wins in 2019. DPP Paulendo!

  5. When Al Gore, lost the election to George Bush, he went to teach Journalism at the University and is sill doing till now. He looks to be a happy man. I wonder why Ken Lipenga cannot think like Gore when Chancellor College is in short supply of Lecturers.

  6. They are prepared to help Muthalika to win 2019 elections when they did not win themselves. These are Mbuzi. They just want to enrich themselves.

  7. They failed to help PP win the elections and you think they have anything to help the DPP with. Foolish thinking.

Asauka akufuna aphukirenso ndi ndalama zakuba.

  8. That second photo is unbelievable and shocking. How can the police allow an articulated lorry to carry people? That is a death trap.

  9. Are they going to be importing people from ather district up when failed people doesn’t see the truth mukakamiza zinthu mpakaliti ndinu olephera DPP and MCP failed party you have destroyed our mother Malawi to zero then you still want to rule Malawi we need new things now for this he to change new party to come in which is DePeCo thats the only hope party for the beterness of Malawian not these useless parties DPP and MCP .

  10. Ayi dere those are all recycled politians from Shithole parties. Angatipusitse amenewo akufunika maudindo aziyambana ndi achinadausi amenewo,

  11. Lomwes aligning themselves to a fellow Lomwe but want to use Yaos to fulfill a regionalistic agenda.

Peter Mutharika likes to harbor thieves, but at the same time has his own political pendulum that resembles his late brother’s. His brother believed in a majority vote from the south hence his roping in of Joyce Banda, ironically isolating the other two regions. Peter Mutharika wants to use that mathematical method by roping in UDF leadership and making PP leadership glued to the DPP skin. The calculated outcome would be DPP scooping majority votes in predominantly Lomwe and Yao areas and then game over, what silly and draconian thinking!

The above calculation is the reason Peter Mutharika has been vehemently opposing the electoral reforms because he knew that just winning votes in the south wouldn’t equate to a 50+1% needed to win the presidency under new voting system. He ‘s been fully immersed in paranoia and devoid of self confidence. He knows his performance as president has been full of melodrama with nothing to proudly show as an achievement.

Why would Malawians allow a leader who promotes regionalism but fails to execute his required duties to the benefit of the electorates? Malawi has a president who cares more for continuity of his presidency than uplifting people’s lives.

  12. Well done for exercising their democratic rights, but the question to ask is if BJ has ambitions to contest for a Parliamentary seat in 2019, where is he going to do that? He has been floored twice by Nankhumwa at Chisitu and it is obvious that he cannot stand a chance even in the primaries. So too is Phoya -he is likely to face strong opposition from Masangwi, Mphepo and Bande. I can see some of them standing as Independents, I believe DPP has grossly miscalculated its mathematics.

  13. Typical of a dying horse. So Dr Ken Lipenga, Brown Mpinganjira r still around? These r ppo who should b in retirement. They messed this country with Muluzi & Joyce Banda. There is nothing new they can offer Malawians apart from continued plunder of public coffers.

  14. Just look at these guys. Should they not be resting at home? Are they not making DPP to be a party of gogos? Honestly speaking DPP should not go to town bragging about this. We thought you will be talking about the real catch. These are over recycled old people who can not bring any impact to the blue party. Indeed desparate times call for desparate measures but this one hmmmm saonjeza.

    1. Kkkk kutha maplan DPP…How dd Lipenga leave? He got fired for embezzling funds when he was Finance Minister. Mpinganjira ndi uyo scandals mbwe mbwe mbwe. Phoya mmmmhhh hahahaha no comment. Asiyeni 2019 MCP tizagwetse ochuluka kkkk

  15. Will these comrades make it during party primaries if ever they decide to contest for parliamentary seats? I forsee a tough ride in Mulanje Central as someone is strategising on frustrating the ambitions of somebody within the party old timers thus the problem of having factions within the same party so fight on all the best so long there will be a smart game.I wish you all good ride within and outside the party folds but trend carefully sidzadzana zija
