Thieves will always go for soft targets. It seems to me that Malawians are generally soft targets. Once thieves discover that they can get rich without much sweat in Malawi generally through politics; they tend to join political parties under the pretext that they would change Malawi fortunes; whilst in the meantime they know exactly what there end goal is……to loot. No one will will rise up to transform Malawi for the love of the country. This can only be done by Malawians who have to elect ethical and visionary leaders even if it means from amongst the civil society.… Read more »

Well written piece Allan. Allow me to observe however that taken to its honest logical conclusion in our context, the current aphorism that ‘ Kusintha mtundu was nkhuku sikusosola nthenga koma kusintha tambala’ places the purveyor of that wisdom in the category of ‘kusosola nthenga.’ Truth be said, since 1994, this country has been governed by a UDF Genus rulling class. Wrong! its not about new tambala. We need a revolution! As long as the process of electing state president remains the same, nothing will ever change. There is need to overthrow the current system and bring in a new system. No leader will ever be trusted under the current presidential system. It appears that we are not matured enough to handle democracy.
