There are far better methods of extracting a confession than this. I suspect that whoever was interrogating the deceased must have had a personal interest in this criminal act, otherwise the violence meted on the deceased is completely unjustified. It defeats the very purpose of the police including the justice system. In Kenya, just last week February 14, 2019, a senior commanding police officer for Ruaraka Police Station was sentenced to death for the murder of a suspect in his custody in 2013. He was found guilty in December 2018 after a full trial by Nairobi High Court. The suspect was arrested on allegation that he was involved a domestic brawl at the suspect’s home.
