Civil society organisations (CSOs) have said they will go ahead with their plans to hold nationwide protests on September 21...
These days I just check the surname and conclude what will be said next.
A typically well-reasoned and well-argued piece from Prof Chirwa. A pity that he didn’t have time to endorse the demonstration planned by the Malawi CSOs for 21 September which shares many of his political ambitions, including freedom of speech and assembly.
The DPP government is good at dividing the Malawian people along tribalistic, religious, and regional lines. The Opposition should not follow! Come down from the Cape Town tower, Mr Chirwa, and speak to the CSOs !!
Well written Prof. Danwood. Unfortunately we are ruled by one professor of law who raises a lot of questions as to how he obtained his qualification. He has turned the once mighty party a terrorist organization which is only good at violence. He has used the youth and state agencies to terrorize his own people. I think it’s high time we reduce presidential powers and come up with laws which must hold public officers personally accountable. Malawi belongs to all of us.
Dr Danwood Chirwa, why ask this when you very well know that it was due to international pressure? These DPP thugs would have kept her in the cell forever if it was not for foreign agencies intervention.
That’s Prof Dan Chirwa I have learnt something from this.
Thanks Prof. for the insights. I hope the Pumbwa Kingdom will appreciate some of the knowledge claims you have made
The author must have smoked the weed.
What is your name again? Oh CHIRWA? Ok, thank your sit down.
Spot on, Professor! Succinct and to the point!
