what I really do not get about this man is he is too much into talking before anything has started on the ground, yesterday it was about water project from lake Malawi to Lilongwe now is the cigar project, is this man really sane enough to be trust or something is wrong in his head or it is the reporter just reporting hearsay?

This is a good project albeit a lot needs to be invested to build the Mchinji cigar brand. As for the alimi let us hope the fodya prices will be better than the racist/neocolonial tobacco buyers.Atsamunda especially from Zimbabwe are the ones who are manipulating the tobacco prices in Malawi…ndi mbava.

Of course you don’t expect tobacco prices (that farmers get) to pick up following this development. There won’t just be significant change in demand. Besides, it is highly likely that the manufacturer won’t be sourcing its tobacco direct from the floors: there is a difference between a manufacturer and and a tobacco buyer in the floors, with the latter being a possible supplier of the former..
