When all is said and done the blame goes to the Catholic Church, if the church starts intervening in politics like this then the position of religion is compromised. It is no wonder that 90% of UTM members are Catholic, Calista, Kaliati, Shanil, Winiko, Masangwi etc are all Catholics only a fool will think this is merely a coincidence.

UTM is assured of grabbing votes from DPP and UDF from Balaka bacuase of the Catholic Church influnence as well as Lucious Banda.Former First Lady Patricia Muluzi will most likely retain her Parliamentary Seat.In. Mulanje, Kaliati will most likely retain her parliamentary seat,am not sure about Bon Kalindo while all the seven seats in Ntcheu will obviously go to UTM.DPP is the biggest loser with the coming of UTM not MCP.

Why will DPP win 2019 elections. The only challenger of DPP in 2019 elections is MCP not UTM, PP, AFORD, UDF. Therefore the analysis is based on role that PP, UDF,AFORD and UTM plays in determining the winner between the two (DPP/MCP). The two parties PP and UTM have already made a decision to field a presidential candidate. They have a propabilty of 5% to win elections. They will therefore just divide the votes of the DPP/MCP. You are very right. DPP will win because PP has lost support to DPP and MCP. And UTM is also winning support from MCP. The political wind has greatly changed. I said it that from now to March 2019 we except great shift as politicians are positioning to where they belong. I concur with you that DPP will win the elections. I am working for a certain NGO. I was surprised to hear people in Rumphi supporting Government in the course of their personal discussions. I pretended as if I was not listening to their discussions. This happened in many areas. We went to Chitipa the same happened. We went to Mzimba rural, it also happened.
