Vuwa denies joining MCP: ‘I’m DPP all the way’
Democratic Progressive Party ( DPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkhatabay central Symon Vuwa has denied harboring intentions of defecting from the DPP to Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
There have been speculations in the social media that Vuwa Kuanda was heading to MCP.
But Kaunda told Nyasa Times that he cannot leave DPP because it is a party that shaped his political career and put him on spotlight.
He said speculations about his defection to MCP are “total fabrications” that are aimed at tarnishing his image.

The former outspoken Minister of Information said he cannot leave the DPP at a time when he himself and other fellow former ministers are answering treason charges: “I cannot leave DPP. It is a party that gave me an opportunity to become a minister.”
He added: ” The status I am today is through late Bingu wa Mutharika. He made me to be what I am today. There is no way I can make that stupid and useless decision to dump my mother party.”
Vuwa said: “The reason for my silence is that I am concentrating on number of development projects in my constituency.”
The DPP’s Deputy National Organizing Secretary said: “I want to assure the nation that I am DPP and will support Peter Mutharika until we claim the leadership of the country from PP.”.
He described assertion that he intends to defect from DPP as a ploy aimed at causing confusion in the Mutharika-led party.
