The  portfolio and investment management service provider’s marketing executive, Rehanna Rice, said at a news conference in Blantyre that they would like to contribute to the uplifting of golf standards from the grassroots.

“The K1million sponsorship is for the Friday tournament but we are looking forward to a three-year partnership for a national competition,” she said.

“Parents invest in Alliance Capital, therefore, we also have to invest in kids,” Rice said.

Junior golfers coach Dingaan Chirwa, who was accompanied by National Junior Golf Committee (South) general secretary Charmaine van Derwalt, thanked Alliance Capital for the support, saying the sponsorship will help them to reach out to more kids.

Hillview, Phoenix, Royal Heritage and St Andrew’s, will compete for medals alongside a mixed team that comprises children from various public schools.

At least 60 children will take part in the tournament.
