Botswana’s Makhirikhiri in farewell shows to Malawi

Makhirikhiri of Botswana  will hold farewell shows  in Malawi this weekend as they complete their one and a half month musical tour.

The group arrived in the country on October 10 and it has performed a number of shows with local music star Sir Lucious Banda who owns Zembani Music Company.

Banda told Nyasa Times Friday that he is looking forward to some great performance at the final shows he has lined up with Makhirikhiri.

The party starts today (Friday) night at Mungo Park in Lilongwe and the show is pegged at K1,500.00 at the entrance door.

The party throngs to Dedza on Saturday afternoon at the Dedza Community Centre Ground before returning to Lilongwe at the Golf Club on Sunday.

“I am looking forward to great shows because I will be sharing the stage with my young brothers who are doing well on the scene so its going to be a good challenge for me,” said Banda.

Apart from the famous international Makhirikhiri crew, ‘Soldier’ has also lined up a variety of local stars including Maskal of the “Zili ndiwe” fame, Skeffa Chimoto, Dan Lu, plus Lulu of the “Kumalembe” and “Wachenjera Darling” hits among others from the Zembani Band.

This will be the last time for Makhirikhiri to perform in Malawi this year
