Channel for All Nations donates towards orphans in Lilongwe

Members of Channel for All Nation (CAN) Radio and Television fan club Saturday cheered orphans at Lonjezo Orphanage in Ntandile, Lilongwe, where they also donated assorted items.

Tiwonge Chimlamba, the Club secretary, said they were touched after hearing about what the children go through at the orphanage and thought of sharing.

“We thought of sharing the little we have, and encourage them with the word of God.  As a club we believe in love and sharing,” said Chimlamba.

Among the assorted items were sugar, soap, pencils and exercise books.

Matron of the orphanage, a Mrs Phiri, thanked CAN fan club for the intervention, describing it as timely.

“You came with things that our children lack most. We are very grateful because this will take us a long way,” said Phiri, appealing to other well-wishers to emulate CAN fan club example.

Lonjezo Orphanage is home to more than 170 children, according to Phiri.
