JB appoints MP Beatrice Mwale as PP women’s director: Replaces Makungwa
President of the People’s Party (PP) Joyce Banda (JB), has appointed Member of Parliament Kasungu North Constituency, Beatrice Mwale as it’s national women’s director, replacing Clara Makungwa, who has defected to the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
PP secretary general Ibrahim Matola and party publicity secretary Noah Chimpeni have confirmed the development.
“It has pleased Her Excellency Dr. Joyce Banda in consultation with the acting president Dr. Uladi Mussa MP, to appoint Hon. Beatrice Mwale MP, as the National Director of Women with immediate effect, ” said Matola while congratulating and giving her best wishes to Mwale.
Matola has since urged PP members to support Mwale.
Meanwhile, Chimpeni has refuted reports that PP is the biggest loser to DPP following much political exodus on Sunday last week.
“We only lost Makiungwa to DPP, Patrick Makina MP was already expelled by his constituency, Ken Msonda was already blue so you can see that we only lost one member,” said Chimpeni.
