Malawi artists miss out on MTV Africa Music Awards
Malawi singers should up their game as they were not even recognised in the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) held in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on Saturday night.

Since the awards were introduced seven years ago, no Malawian has ever been nominated. It was for Channel O Music Awards that Tay Grin was nominated in 2007 and 2008 for Best Male, Best Southern Africa Video and Best Hip Hop Video.
The awards were introduced in 2008 to celebrate contemporary music and honour creativity on the African continent. This year’s awards were held for the fifth time to mark the tenth anniversary of MTV Base Africa.

Si satanic, koma let’s try hard and harder
Yes Malawi musicians are not free Mason that’s why
Malawian artists are not satanic so why expect them to win a devilish contest
That’s why people can’t win cos they don’t think like Moya, they talk things contrary to the subject at hand. What Mbendera? So if musicians do compose & be creative is fault of leadership? Creativity is an inborn thing, the problem with Malawian artists is that they’re copycats. When Mkasa starts chamba chake & sells everyone wants to sing like Mkasa. When Lucious Banda does it everyone wants to be like Soldier lack of creativity. Gospel singers they just take a South African song or Tanzanian then just sing it in Chichewa so what is that??????? Others they even unashamedly sing in the Nigerian or Zambian accent so can you expect to be recognised when you’re such copycats. We used to have originals in the likes of Dr Daniel Kachamba the late, Late Robert Fumulani, Late Allan Namoko & of course Paul Banda those guys used to be real.
Gwaladi anali kuti?
I like Diamond this Tanzanian. He is very good.He can sing and dance.Malawian musicians have alot to improve. Its only Lucious and few others who are up to scratch but alot of them have a big assignment to do.
The Mavins and Dorrobucchi inadidyela mpamba wanga wa business pa Karonga ndi Tathyola dance ya fumbi kobo pa elusion ndikuyankhula some phony Swahili with taifas.
Kodi pa nyasaland paliso oimba?the only guy who would have presented this country was Joe Gwaladi koma anapanga same za ugwaladi, oimba nonse muifile muziyimba nyimbo osati kutiuza nkhani zachambuyanu guyz even one musician?ndiye muzitokota kuti mumayimba.
If the head of the fish is rotten everything is rotten. Our priorities are far from creating a global competitiveness of our artists. Our priorities right now ndikusolola and you tell me if we can produce an artist worthy the talk on global stage even tho talent we have.poorest in everything bcoz we have chosen so in our minds. Thanks to unpatriotic people like the mbenderas
