Malawi Immigration denies firearms found in coffin

Officials from the Department of Immigration have dismissed as untrue social media reports that police in Mozambique have intercepted a cache of arms hidden in a coffin.

Immigration Department spokesman for Mwanza Border Pascal Zulu said officers and the police have verified the reports and found to be untrue.

“We read the social media reports and we were curious to find out the truth. Our colleagues from Mozambique said the reports are not true,” he said.

He said the incident has happened in Nigeria and someone just copied and pasted and put it to look as if it happened in Mozambique and the arms were destined for Malawi.

The government of Nigeria is battling an insurgency group, Boko Haram that is fighting for the Islamisation of Nigeria.

Nigerian officials are yet to comment on the matter.

If you expect the DPP government to admit this kind of thing, you must be naïve. The only time this government admits anything is when it is raining and you tell “it” that it’s raining. Otherwise it Is a bunch of specialists in denials!
