Malawi President receives envoys from Iran, SA, Sweden and Iceland: Pictorial
President Joyce Banda on Tuesday received credentials from four new ambassadors who will represent their countries in Malawi.
The colourful ceremony took Place at Sanjika Palace in the commercial capital Blantyre.
The envoys are from South Africa ( Cassandra Mbuyane Makone), Republic of Iceland (Maria Erla Marelsdottir), Kingdom of Sweden ( Lars Ronnas) and Islamic Republic of Iran (Medhi Aghafari).
Presidential Press Officer Brian Banda speaking in a telephone Interview with Nyasa Times from Sanjika Palace, said s the increase in number Ambassadors and High Commissioners to Malawi shows that Malawi is being seen as a partner and a player in so many fields with other countries.
“Is shows the confidence that these countries have in the Joyce Banda administration and Malawi knows that for the country to grow it needs international links with other players be it in education, trade, agriculture, ” said Brian Banda.
