Malawi to produce magazine for Liberian President

Malawi government through the Ministry of Information intends to produce a souvenir magazine in honour of Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who is expected to visit the country on 1st February, 2014, Nyasa Times can reveal.

This is according to minutes of an editorial meeting on production of the special newsletter at Ministry of Information.

The meeting was held on Tuesday, 22nd January, 2014 at the Central office of Information (COI) in Lilongwe and was chaired by Grace Kwalapu.

The meeting agreed to produce a 12-paged magaziner that will include the profile of the Liberian President, the purpose of her visit and the relationship/cooperation between Malawi and Liberia.

Chikumbutso Mtumodzi, who is now the Director of Information, will be responsible to offer editorial advice with John Mchilikizo as the Editor in-Chief while Gospel Mwalwanda will be the editor.

The articles will be written by reporters from Malawi News Agency.

During the meeting, the Chairperson also reported that in addition to the newsletter, the Department of Information would also produce portraits of both President Dr Joyce Banda and President Sirleaf and paper flags of the two countries.
